Return & Cancellation Policy
Applies to trailer purchases in the United States. Effective for purchases made on or after October 16, 2026, the date this policy was first published on our website.
1. General policy
Trailer returns are not automatic. All returns and exchanges require prior written authorization from Keystone Trailers and a satisfactory inspection. Approval is subject to the conditions below. An approved voluntary return is subject to a minimum restocking fee of 20% of the original trailer selling price before taxes and fees. This policy does not limit remedies required by applicable law.
2. Standard stock trailers
For a standard, non-custom trailer purchased from our stock, contact Keystone Trailers within 7 calendar days after pickup or delivery to request a return. If approved, the trailer must be returned within that same 7-day period unless Keystone agrees otherwise in writing. The trailer must be unused, unmodified, undamaged, and in the same condition as delivered, except for transportation necessary to take it home and return it. All original equipment, accessories, keys, and paperwork must be included. Used or pre-owned trailers are final sale unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.
3. Restocking fee and condition deductions
The standard restocking fee is 20%. If Keystone agrees to accept a trailer that does not meet the standard return conditions, the total deduction may be higher to reflect documented damage, missing items, repairs, cleaning, modifications, or loss of resale value. Keystone will provide an itemized written refund calculation for the customer to accept before completing the voluntary return. The same loss will not be charged twice. Keystone may decline a return that does not meet this policy.
4. Custom and special-order trailers
Custom-built, factory-ordered for a customer, specially configured, or customer-modified trailers are final sale and non-returnable, except as required by law or expressly agreed in writing. This includes customer-selected specifications, dimensions, colors, layouts, installed equipment, graphics, and other non-stock options. Keystone is not obligated to accept a custom trailer or obtain factory return authorization. Any factory acceptance is subject to the manufacturer's written conditions.
5. Discretionary buyback or trade-in
Keystone may, at its discretion, offer to purchase or accept a non-returnable trailer as a trade-in. This is a separate transaction, not a guaranteed return or refund. Keystone determines any offer after inspecting the trailer and considering condition, specifications, demand, and resale value. An offer may be substantially less than the original purchase price. If Keystone instead expressly approves a custom-order return, the minimum 20% restocking fee and any disclosed, agreed additional deductions apply.
6. Cancellations and deposits
Contact Keystone promptly to request cancellation before pickup or delivery. Cancellation is not automatic, particularly after a factory order is submitted or work begins. Deposits are applied to the purchase price; any cancellation refund is governed by the signed order or deposit agreement and applicable law. Any non-refundable deposit terms or cancellation charges must be disclosed and agreed to at purchase. A completed-sale return fee does not automatically establish the amount owed for a pre-delivery cancellation. Keystone will provide any approved cancellation settlement in writing.
7. Taxes, fees, and completed services
Sales tax refunds or credits are handled in accordance with applicable law and government procedures. Title, registration, plate, lien, and other government or third-party fees already paid or incurred are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law and not recoverable. Charges for completed preparation, installation, customization, delivery, or transport are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law. Any other retained charge must have been disclosed in the purchase agreement and be legally permitted.
8. Return process and transportation
Use the phone number, email address, or contact form shown on this page to contact Keystone Trailers Sales. Provide your name, invoice number, trailer VIN or stock number, reason for the request, and current photos. Obtain written authorization and arrange an inspection and return appointment at our dealership. Do not leave a trailer without authorization. Customers are responsible for arranging and paying return transport for voluntary returns. Trailers must be free of liens, or have a lender-approved payoff arrangement, with all documents needed to transfer clear ownership.
9. Refunds and exchanges
Approved refunds will be issued within 10 business days after the trailer is received, inspection is completed, and required ownership and lender documents are resolved. Refunds are made to the original payment method where possible; financed purchases may require payment to the lienholder first. Your bank or lender may take additional time to post funds. Exchanges require written approval and are subject to the same eligibility rules and fees. Any price difference must be settled before the replacement trailer is released.
10. Defects, incorrect orders, and legal rights
Report damage, defects, or discrepancies promptly. Warranty concerns are evaluated under the applicable warranty; a repair issue does not automatically require a return. Buyer-remorse restocking fees and voluntary-return transport charges do not apply where a refund or other remedy without those charges is required by law. Nothing in this policy waives applicable warranty rights, remedies for nonconforming goods, or other statutory rights. Later website changes do not retroactively change an existing purchase agreement.
